TOP HOUSEBUILDER SPECIFYING MARMOX SHOWERLAY360 ACROSS ITS DEVELOPMENTS

A Kent based housebuilder has specified the versatile Showerlay³⁶⁰ trays for its latest development, located near Tunbridge Wells in the Weald, continuing to employ a design solution which has featured across many of its timber framed and traditionally built properties in recent years.

Maidstone based Clarendon Homes is currently nearing completion on nine high specification private homes – together with five affordable homes for a major social housing provider - on a site in the town of Cranbrook.

The work is making use of both the 1500 x 800mm and 1850 x 900mm Showerlay bases, together with the manufacturer’s infinitely adjustable, 360 degree outlets, as the housebuilder’s own plumbers fit out the master en-suites and main bathrooms; with the design of the trays creating the necessary falls within the shower enclosures.

The Site Manager for Clarendon Homes, Andy Butcher, commented: “Our in-house architects pretty much specify the Marmox Showerlay for every project we do: because of their versatility and because they avoid the problem of cracking, with the resultant leaks.

I’ve used them on a lot of sites including a development of 21 homes in Maidstone and two dozen retirement bungalows we built at Boughton Monchelsea as well as at a Russel Hotel.

At Cranford we’re building nine properties – five houses and four bungalows The bathrooms and en-suites are all luxury spec. and as normal we are laying porcelain tiles - with 600 x 600mm being laid across the floors and 900 x 300mm ones on the walls.The work is going to programme and we expect to complete by July.”

The 360⁰ swivelling outlets can be aligned at any angle for total flexibility in the positioning of the waste connection, simplifying the installation for both new-build and refurbishment applications, while being compliant with all relevant standards.

Showerlay can be installed over timber or concrete sub-floors and, as with other trays in the Marmox range, are often used in combination with the company’s widely specified Multiboard panels.

The Showerlay³⁶⁰ trays, together with the waste fittings and special Marmox waterproof tape are all being supplied to Clarendon Homes by the Folkestone branch of Travis Perkins.
