System and Bespoke Handrails with or without LED lighting

BPI Bespoke Project Installations Ltd., design and manufacture a range of quality handrails and balustrades which are installed throughout the U.K. mainland.

The handrails are available in PVC sleeved galvanised steel or stainless steel, and are ideal for Education, Healthcare, commercial and public buildings.

“Stargard” is a system design, yet the handrail is fabricated to suit each individual location. It is the original “warm to the touch” DDA compliant handrail and is manufactured from galvanised steel tube, which is sleeved after fabrication with 4mm (4,000 microns) thick PVC. Stargard resists knocks and bumps and will not chip or flake. The colour is consistent through the full thickness of the pvc sleeving. And the handrail is available in either 42mm or 50mm diameter.

Individual LED lights can be fitted directly into the handrail and are extremely vandal resistant.

Stargard has been installed in many education establishments, healthcare buildings, and railway stations. Its hard-wearing properties make it perfect for high pedestrian traffic areas. The handrail can be fitted to Stargard, galvanised steel or stainless-steel balusters.

Sentinel is a component-based handrail and balustrade system in stainless steel, either grade 304 for internal applications, or grade 316 for external. The stainless-steel finish to the handrail is normally a satin finish as this is easy to clean and less likely to show finger marks. Balustrade infill panels are available in glass or perforated sheet, and vertical bar or horizontal rails in stainless steel or powder coated steel can be used to give a “different” appearance. Handrails are either 42mm or 50mm diameter.

Individual LED lights can be fitted into Sentinel as well as Stargard. Because these LED’s are Individual lights, they can be placed into the handrail at centres and angles which allow the correct lighting levels for any particular application to be achieved. This can help with overall project costs by placing light exactly where it is needed, on the stair treads or ramp surface which may help in reducing the need for other means of lighting in the same area.

Glassrail is a structural glass balustrade system which is ideal for balconies and terraces, anywhere in fact, where a clear view through the balustrade is required. The handrails for Glassrail can have Stargard or Sentinel fitted to the side of the glass, or slotted stainless steel handrail fitted to the top edge of the glass.

BPI are continuously looking at product development. New ideas are always under consideration and a “completely different” handrail is currently in the final stages of development. This is planned for completion later this year.
