Double-glazed Units, also known as Insulated Glass Units (IGUs), are individually sealed units composed of multiple panes of glass separated by a sealed or gas-filled gap to enhance insulation.
We offer a diverse range of IGUs at Fire Glass UK, including fire-rated options specifically designed for the composite door market. We are certified to manufacture fire-rated units to Attestation Level 1, ensuring that our products consistently meet the highest safety standards. Options include wired fire-rated units, clear and patterned glass, and other decorative finishes.
IGUs are engineered to provide superior performance across various applications. They offer fire resistance with up to 60 minutes of integrity and insulation, making them reliable for enhancing building safety. The FireCell technology from Fire Glass UK further elevates its fire protection capabilities. Additionally, IGUs can be customised with acoustic, solar, and blind options to suit specific needs. They are also designed to deliver proven thermal improvements, and warm edge spacer bars and gas-filling options are available to enhance energy efficiency.
The Benefits of using IGUS from Fire Glass UK
IGUs offer significant advantages, particularly in temperature regulation. Using multiple glass panes with a sealed or gas-filled gap in between, IGUs help maintain a consistent indoor temperature, reducing the need for artificial heating or cooling. This not only enhances comfort but also contributes to energy efficiency, which can lead to lower utility bills. IGUs are also designed to meet stringent building regulations, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards in residential and commercial settings.
