QUALICOAT UK & Ireland is pleased to announce the launch of its conference for 2022 – Future-proofing Facades.The conference will gather professionals from across the construction industry to discuss developments in finishing technology for architectural aluminium, with the aim of ensuring that future project specifications offer the best protection.

Architect by trade, TV presenter and former President of the Royal Institute of British Architects, Maxwell Hutchinson is confirmed as keynote speaker.A prolific broadcaster and best-selling author, Maxwell will draw on his vast experience and incredible work history to produce an inspirational and enlightening session.

Agenda

The conference will address topics such as fire resistance of façade coatings, specifying powder coatings with emphasis on the revised standard – BS EN12206, and future developments in powder coating including the recent launch of the QUALICOAT 3.0 specification. Aluminium pretreatment, site inspections and maintenance will also be explored.

The day will include presentations from QUALICOAT members such as global paint company, AkzoNobel, and leading global supplier of applied surface treatments for metal, plastic, and glass, Chemetall Ltd, amongst others.

Naveen Sandhu, UK & Ireland specification manager for AkzoNobel Powder Coatings is responsible for one of the most topical sessions at the conference – Fire Safety and Facades.He will present on the role of coatings and finishes in contributing to fire performance and how to specify a safe polyester powder coated cladding system.This is followed by a panel discussion with audience Q&A.

There will also be an exhibition area of QUALICOAT UK & Ireland member’s products and services.This will enable members and delegates to meet face-to-face, and provide an opportunity to share information, network and build the relationships required to future-proof facades.
