Situated in the coastal town of Poole, Dorset, and known for its large natural harbour and sandy beaches, sits the Parkstone Yacht Club. Looking for a complete redevelopment of their circa 100m² exterior Club House terrace, Parkstone turned to Surface 360 to supply and install a high quality, high performing timber-effect porcelain tiled floor.
To cover their terrace, Parkstone opted for the Levato Mono TeknoTimber 20mm porcelain paving tile range, which is a popular choice for those who like conventional timber decking. To complement the sandy shores, the Club House chose the sandy-tan colour range, TeknoTimber 02.
Unlike real timber decking, timber-effect porcelain offers high performance characteristics for a durable, mould free and slip resistant surface. In particular, TeknoTimber 02 provides any project with an R11 (A, B and C) Classification for slip resistance, which is tested to the UK recognised, German National Standard. This not only provides peace of mind and safety under foot for Club House visitors, but also provides a low maintenance and easy-to-clean surface for Club House staff.
Each 20mm paving tile is supported by the high performance pedestal support system to create a perfectly raised and levelled terrace floor. Thanks to this system, the new raised floor creates a high load-bearing surface without compromising the waterproof membrane and terrace substrate below.
Surface 360, formally The Deck Tile Co, specialises in timber-effect porcelain tiles for exterior commercial buildings and residential homes. There are a variety of timber-effect tiles in the Surface 360 range which offer complementary interior tiles for coordinating inside and outside flooring.
