Aalco is the sole UK distributor of IAM Design’s balustrade and handrail systems.

IAM is widely regarded as the leading European designer and manufacturer of stainless steel handrail and balustrade components and systems for architectural applications.

Aalco offers systems in grade 304 and 316 stainless steel, ensuring that installations can withstand prolonged exposure to the British weather, whilst still maintaining excellent aesthetics and performance.

Stocks are held at Aalco’s 18 Service Centres, ensuring nationwide supply capability, with a backup of stock at a dedicated hub in the Midlands.

Aalco also sells additional systems that are available to special order, at slightly longer lead times, from the manufacturer.

The handrail systems are easy to assemble and install and easy to integrate with other architectural elements, fitting flexibly in most environments in which they are installed. The range includes newel posts, brackets, mountings, end caps and finials. Elegant tube, bar and wire systems are complemented by sophisticated systems of glass clamps for creating decorous and striking systems in clear, tinted, coloured, laminated and toughened glass which can be used to make stairs, railings, fences, balconies and more.

In addition to ‘standard’ components, Aalco offers a unique, award-winning LED railing system that provides close proximity lighting to stairs and walkways eliminating the need to light an entire area.

An exciting addition to the range that has already prompted a very positive reaction is the new Chameleon glass clamp. Available with a choice of one of three interchangeable cover profiles, Chameleon can be used to blend in unobtrusively or, have the cover custom painted/decorated to provide a unique visual ‘signature’ to any given application area.

Aalco’s technical support package includes the production of bespoke designs with CAD drawings including spiral staircase elements. The Aalco service includes site surveys, design proposals and manufacturing to suit any environment, in compliance with all relevant legislation.
