Towards the end of 2019 Robuchon International opened Le Comptoir Robuchon and Le Deli Robuchon, two new restaurants continuing the legacy of pioneering chef Joël Robuchon. Robuchon International is led by a team of experts many of whom worked alongside multiple Michelin star rated chef Joël Robuchon for decades.
Le Comptoir is an elegant and intimate restaurant in line with Joël Robuchon’s much lauded philosophy of contemporary, convivial dining. It features a stunning marble bar and beautiful grey tones offset by graceful lighting. Le Deli draws from the variety of more casual Robuchon offerings and offers a more relaxed ambiance. Its fresh, refined interior provides a sophisticated setting for all day dining.
The interiors of both luxury restaurants were designed by Thurstan, an innovative interior design studio with a desire to create environments which bring together buildings, furniture and objects in ways which embrace and display the stories that lie behind them. For the Robuchon project Thurstan turned to The Lamp Factory, London for their expertise and bespoke lighting capabilities on projects of this ilk.
Upon the striking marble bar of Le Comptoir sits seventeen bespoke bar lamps, all handcrafted from brass and featuring beautiful alabaster shades to provide welcoming, delicate lighting. In addition, The Lamp Factory London created six bespoke brass wall lights fixed directly upon mirrors, three elegant bespoke alabaster table lamps paying homage to the bar lamps, and three Avaline picture lights from the Lamp Factory’s core range of lighting.
Chelsea Nelson, Creative Director, Thurstan, comments;
“For each project we work on, we try to design using a mix of available products mixed with vintage and bespoke, it is difficult to find suppliers that can do all of these, so makes working with London lamp factory very easy on larger projects as well as small. Not only that, they really understand the proportions and finishes that we want to achieve on our bespoke designs.”
The interior of Le Deli features five Bancroft picture lights and bespoke menu display lighting, all handcrafted in The Lamp Factory London’s workshop in South London. The Bancroft is a high-quality picture light from the core collection, handcrafted with a beautiful antique brass finish, functional yet statesman like the Bancroft features an intricate ball-and-socket joint to allow multidirectional movement and rotation of the lamp and shade.
Chelsea Nelson, Creative Director, Thurstan, continues;
“They (The Lamp Factory) have a range of beautiful products, which we regularly use in all of our projects across high end residential and large commercial projects as the quality is extremely high and are built to last and their timeless designs fit in most settings!”
