New range of Mermet glass fibre based woven fabrics

The topic Interiors and Lighting could have been designed specifically to introduce the range of Mermet glass fibre based woven fabrics and their use as a window treatment or a decorative medium.

Woven in a wide palette of colours, to different densities and thicknesses the opportunity is provided to control and colour the natural light coming into the room or reflect and refine the artificial light replacing it.

From the zero light transmittance and privacy of a blackout fabric, through the low volume high proportion diffuse lighting provided with the Acoustis 50 fabric to the ‘is there a fabric there’ barrier and filter with the ‘Ultravision’, precision is supplied.

The colour carrying coatings for the fibre glass yarn ensure durability, are moisture resistant, anti-microbial and make an excellent base cloth to take and hold digital printing, bringing more colours into play and making the fabrics suitable for signage or branded product. The high fire retardency afforded by the glass fibre (to BS 476 Pt 6 Class 0) causing the fabrics to be regularly specified as a ceiling or wall covering with acoustically absorbent or transparent properties as the installation requires.

With the yarns natural resistance to stretching and inclination to lie flat it is readily woven into wide roll widths of fabric carrying the same properties, making the construction of large panels that can be hung without the need for re-enforcement or the fear of ‘hour-glassing’.
