The latest addition to London’s world-leading hotel portfolio has literally landed in the city’s Royal Victoria Dock.
Good Hotel London is the latest property to join HotelREZ Hotels & Resorts' independent portfolio in the UK capital and the ambitious project has utilised the expertise of other leading companies, including Interflow, to ensure guests enjoy a high-quality experience.
Good Hotel is London's first floating platform hotel, the ethos of which is based on providing support and value to the local community. It is part of the Good Group organisation, a not-for-profit company founded in 2012 by Dutch entrepreneur Marten Dresen.
Interflow is the UK installer and distributor of a specialist range of products for the built environment, designed to enhance, add value and increase sustainability across public, private and commercial sectors, thereby helping customers save energy and reduce their carbon footprint.
The company’s extensive range of solutions is the first choice for developers and specifiers throughout the UK and DOYMA products were specifically selected for the Good Hotel scheme to ensure the floating hotel’s promise of providing guests with a unique visitor experience remains watertight.
Interflow has supplied the DOYMA Curaflex gasket insert C/S, which boasts simple installation due to precise dimensions and large sealing ranges; it guarantees watertightness up to at least 30 metres head of water for not less than 25 years.
The DOYMA gasket offers a permanent leakproof and maintenance free solution without retorquing, with the higher sealing performance provided by DPS and DOYMA-Grip. It is manufactured according to particular specifications and is completed with watertight, tapped and welded studs.
The DOYMA Curaflex system is essential to the success of the floating hotel as it provides the perfect sealing system for penetrations against pressing water for pipes and cables with special dimensions, such as those used on Good Hotel.
As well as providing a top-quality hotel experience, Good Hotel London will also give back to the community by providing long-term unemployed locals with on-site, customised hospitality training and also, where possible, to provide locally sourced produce in the hotel bar, cafe and restaurant.
Martin Dresen said: “The Royal Victoria Dock is the perfect location for Good Hotel and we aim to offer a fantastic experience for discerning leisure and business travellers alike.“Moreover, we want to give something back to this vibrant community and hope that we can offer a practical career option for locals who have found it difficult to get that first break or step back into work.”
DOYMA pipe sealing systems prevent structural damage. Wherever service ducts are installed through walls, ceilings or floors, penetrating water, other liquids or humidity may cause damage to buildings, DOYMA duct sealing systems ensure professional and perfect sealing, thus presenting excellent preventative measures against structural damage.
The very best in German engineering is used to seal penetration points at the wall to permanently prevent any infiltration of gases and water into the building; the DOYMA products used by Interflow are supported by an insurance company underwritten 25-years warranty.
