InstaGroup delivers sound solutions for high profile developments

InstaGroup’s expertise in acoustic solutions is trusted by the UK’s leading developers. They’re currently working on one of the largest regeneration projects in London, installing acoustic flooring with integrated UFH on the Elephant Park development at Elephant and Castle. When complete, Elephant Park will create around 3,000 new homes; so far, InstaGroup has delivered successfully to over 2,000 units.

A first on the market

InstaGroup’s involvement in this extensive project began over a decade ago, when they formed a relationship with Lendlease after working on the London 2012 Olympics Athletes’ Village.

Their acoustic cradle and batten flooring was chosen, and designed into the scheme using a bespoke underfloor heating system in partnership with Polypipe. The combined solution of using InstaGroup’s C40 acoustic floor with Polypipe underfloor heating was a first in the market.

Building better

Lendlease’s aim is to make Elephant Park one of the most environmentally sustainable urban regeneration projects in the world. The development will be climate positive when it completes in 2025, a goal that’s supported by InstaGroup’s use of sustainable, recycled and recyclable materials.

John Reed, Group Operations Director [js1] at InstaGroup says, “InstaGroup’s C40 cradle and batten flooring set the high standards Lendlease were looking for, including the energy efficient UFH commissioning package that could be installed at the same time.”

“Our patented acoustic flooring system can be quickly and easily laser-levelled on-site and it needs no screed – it’s a lightweight, dry solution. This minimises the structural load of the building, reduces the embodied carbon used in construction, and speeds up entire construction sequences. It has the potential to save months on building programmes.”

James Wilson, InstaGroup’s Business Development Manager, adds, “We’re very pleased to say that we were recently awarded the next phase of Elephant Park. We’ll be installing our acoustic cradle and batten flooring with UFH over the 24-storey tower and 8-storey blocks. By the end of the H7 scheme, InstaGroup will have been installing this sub-floor system at Elephant Park for over 10 years. We’re beyond proud of the partnership with Lendlease, and we look forward to delivering another successful phase.”
