Grass Concrete are best known for the range of reinforced grass paving systems but moving up from ground to roof is the range of vertical Landscaping and Green Roofs.
Lately there has been growing demand for vertical landscape options in urban areas, grass roofs and retaining walls can now provide a variety of vertical planting options as an alternative to what would be otherwise dull and un-inspiring structures. Many of today’s garden and boundary walls now feature planting, colour, shape and textured finish.
The Grassroof system combines the functions of both a paving and a drainage layer. The leg supports simply sit on the roof membrane to create a gap to the underside of the paver. This gap is infilled with a lightweight aggregate filter media, a micro-porous barrier that holds the soil in place but allows water to percolate into a voided drainage waterway below. This enables percolating water to be drained or collected as part of a rainwater harvesting process. It is a system can be quickly and easily installed over roof membranes new or old. This technology enables Grassroof to be specified across all categories of grass roof
For vertical walling the Betoconcept brand is a patented walling range incorporates; Betoatlas, Betoflor, Betotitan, Leromur, Betojar and Betonap products. Its wide choice brings different shapes and styles to accommodate planting on high or low walls. With individual interlocking blocks and dry-build interconnectivity the range offers the ability to free-form wall layouts in single or terraced wall format.
Dry built blocks interlock to form the required face angle and provide adequate soil pockets for all types of plants, shrubs and climbers. Good drainage and water capture with the stepped bank help keep landscape maintenance to a minimum.BetoConcept retaining walls can cope with complex curves, various wall heights up to 10m high, ground embankments and weight surcharges while providing attractive vertical planting areas.
The Grass Concrete range of Grassroof and retaining wall bring together both structural integrity and a variety of landscape design options.
