Cladding coatings that stand the test of time from Tor Coatings

At Tor Coatings, we have been creating and supplying protective coatings for commercial pitched roofs, gutters and internal walls for over 40 years.

One of our many protective systems, Unicover, has been developed specifically as a cost-effective means of extending the life of walls and external cladding - and to tackle cut edge corrosion - while beautifully rejuvenating and transforming their appearance in the process.

In a recent project, Unicover Ultra S was specified as the ideal solution to give Croydon’s Makro Store a new lease of life. The system used is a high-performance semi-gloss coating that provides a long life, colourfast, extremely durable and easily cleaned finish for external surfaces, making it the perfect solution to fulfil the decorative requirements to achieve their new look.

Pexhurst Services Limited was contracted to complete the project, with additional site support from our Tor sales and technical service teams, as well as our Tor Partner, MJB Decorators Limited. With an excess of 15,000m2 of cladding to coat, a spray application was used for speed and accuracy.

Unicover is fast curing formula that allows for quick and efficient installation with little to no disruption. This was particularly important for this project as our operatives had to work around the ground maintenance being carried out at the same time. This saw large amounts of dust clouds being emitted into the air which, if not carefully managed, could have impacted the appearance and effectiveness of the coating system.

The system provides Marko with flexible, durable, long-lasting protection of up to 15 years. During this period, we will continue to carry out regularly scheduled inspections to ensure high performance is delivered for many years to come.
