Safety first at Sandford station home
A new dementia care home and one hundred and eight properties within a new retirement care community have been fitted with Opac thermostatic shower valves from Sirrus by Gummers, providing residents with a safe showering experience and managers with complete peace of mind.
The TMV3 approved Opac shower valves were specified for the Sandford Station development in North Somerset, which is owned and managed by the award-winning charity, St Monica Trust.
Built on the site of an old railway station, Sandford Station is a prestige development which includes a 71 bed care home for people with dementia and 108 high specification properties for the over 60s. The development is one of four owned by St Monica Trust, a charity which provides high quality accommodation, care and support services for older and disabled people.
Ian Joyner, head of facilities at the charity said: “The wellbeing of our residents is of paramount importance and quality and safety are requisite for all products specified in all of our properties. The Sirrus Opac shower provides us with the peace of mind that our residents will enjoy a safe showering experience”.
The Opac thermostatic lever shower valve is available in exposed or concealed options and features a single sequential lever control that is easy to operate, making it ideal for people with restricted mobility in their fingers. It also includes bold temperature markings and is TMV3 approved, which means that the valve will automatically shut off in the event of cold or hot water failure, protecting the user from the risk of scalding or cold water shock.
Another benefit of Opac is that it features an exposed isolation inlet which can easily be accessed for maintenance. And, as Sirrus by Gummers is part of the Bristan Group, all products from the range also come with the backing of BristanCare, the Group’s industry-leading aftersales care service.
Sirrus by Gummers was established in 1861 and has the largest range of TMV3 approved thermostatic blending valves available in the market. For further information about other HTM64 products available from Sirrus, visit www.sirrusshowers.com or call 0844 815 3125.
